Corporate Philosophy
LSAS Tec sells, customizes, provides consultation and support for implementation and operation of analysis and simulation software for space, land, sea, and air, based on the Systems Tool Kit (STK), a software package from Analytical Graphics Inc. and support.
AGI’s STK is a multi-domain analysis tool for space, land, sea, and air with 50,000 installations in the U.S. and around the world over the past 30 years.
Through technical consulting and support for STK implementation by professionals who are well versed in aerospace and defense related business, we assist in the smooth operation of conceptual design of satellites, various calculations such as orbit calculations, and near real-time control of satellites actually launched.
Not only space-related business, but also trajectory analysis, simulation, and control of various flying objects such as unmanned aerial vehicles/reconnaissance aircraft, drones, rockets, and missiles, as well as land/sea moving objects.
By providing such services and solutions, we aim to contribute to the promotion of Japan’s space industry and space development and utilization, thereby contributing to the development of society.
Message from the President
Started with domestic sales of satellite analysis tools
LSAS Tec is a venture company established in April 2009 as a spin-off from the space-related business division of a trading company specializing in technology. (AGI) satellite modeling and analysis tool, the Systems Tool Kit (STK), and has been providing sales and technical support in Japan since its days as a trading company, and has a team of professionals with extensive knowledge of satellite-related technologies.
Providing the world’s most advanced software along with technical know-how
Developed by AGI, STK is the world’s most advanced satellite orbit analysis software. It has been adopted by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the European Space Agency (ESA), the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and other space and defense agencies around the world, making it indispensable software for space development applications.
Since our establishment, we have been importing, selling, and developing analysis and simulation software for land, sea, air, and space, with STK as our core product, and providing software consulting, introduction support, technical support after introduction, and other services by professionals with expertise in aerospace and defense-related businesses. We have provided various services to government agencies such as JAXA, JAXA Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS), Japan Meteorological Agency, and Ministry of Defense; manufacturers of satellites, rockets, and aircraft; and private companies that undertake satellite development, operation, and control.
Become a leader in the next generation of space development
Recognized for his advanced technical capabilities and expertise, he has recently participated in JAXA’s next-generation space development projects, the Small Lunar Imaging Module (SLIM) project and the Mars Mission to Mars (MMX) project, and is in charge of orbit calculations for the lunar landing satellite and conceptual design for the Mars orbiter.
Furthermore, today, not only government projects but also private companies are involved in the development, manufacture, launch, and operation of satellites.
We already have NEW SPCE companies as customers, including QPS Research Institute, Inc. which aims at in-house production and mass production of satellites, and we are developing our business as an indispensable business partner in the new era of satellites.
The “Space Industry Vision 2030 (Space Utilization Creation under the Fourth Industrial Revolution)” released by the Japanese government in May 2017 also states that “The space industry is an important industry that can provide significant opportunities for economic growth and also contribute to the security of our country. It is also expected to contribute to the productivity and competitiveness of other industries through the creation of new space services. The importance of the space industry is emphasized in the following statement.
LSAS Tec will contribute to the promotion of space development for the promotion of Japan’s space industry and social development through advanced technical know-how and human resource development.

Business Purpose
The Path of the Space Industry
As the space industry grows more and more, including the rise of space ventures, the profit structure of the industry as a whole is about to undergo a major change. In other words, as in various industries, we can imagine that the space business will move along the same path as other industries: (1) an era of development by a small number of players, such as national institutions; (2) expansion of the market size due to an increase in the number of players; (3) maturity; and (4) commoditization of the space business. In addition, it is necessary to be prepared for the fact that the price of technology will continue to decline.
We are confident that we can be a technical bridge between venture companies (New Space) and existing space operators (public and private).
To be a solution provider that matches the times
In this context, product cycles for space and aerospace systems will become increasingly complex and overcrowded, and software development, validation, and maintenance will become a major burden for system integrators. For system integrators, close collaboration with solution providers will become critical to project success.
LSAS Tec aims to become a solution provider that leads Japan’s space and aviation sector in technology by establishing fundamental technologies that enable trajectory analysis and simulation technologies and near real-time control of all types of flying objects in the fields of space, aviation, and defense.
The business domains to be addressed are as follows
● Space: Accurate simulation and near real-time control. Flexible system for various satellites and orbits.
● Defense: Establishment of simulation and control technologies that are compatible with all types of environments by understanding the characteristics of various types of flying vehicles such as rockets, unmanned reconnaissance vehicles, and drones
● Interface: Japanese thinking, building a system that reflects past experience in operating flying vehicles, and developing and implementing a simulation and control system that can be adapted to and linked with various space-related systems.
About AGI
AGI, a U.S. company with 30 years of experience
Analytical Graphics Inc. (AGI), headquartered in Exton, Pennsylvania, was founded in 1989 by a group of young people who had worked in the space and aircraft divisions of major companies such as General Electric Company. domain analysis tool, Satellite Tool Kit (STK) 1.0, was commercialized and launched in 1991.
STK users now number 50,000 space, aerospace, defense, and intelligence companies and agencies worldwide, including NASA, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. Air Force. STK was also used to calculate the orbit of the Russian space station Mir.
In 2012, STK changed its name from Satellite Tool Kit to Systems Tool Kit as a multi-domain analysis tool with many enhancements. From conceptual design to the latest version 11.6 with modeling, simulation, and 3D visualization capabilities, STK’s practicality and reliability speak to AGI’s 30 years of experience.
